How does the Mockmill 100 work?

The workings of the Mockmill 100 Grain Mill are straightforward: it uses two stone plates to grind the grain and produce flour. The degree of fineness or coarseness of the flour depends on the gap between these plates. Please note that the Mockmill 100 is specifically designed for milling dry grains, seeds, and spices, and is not suitable for processing wet or oily products. While it may be possible to mill oily seeds with the Mockmill 100 by mixing them with a high proportion of dry ingredients, this is not advised.

How do you use the Mockmill 100?

When handling the Mockmill 100, be sure to lift it by the base of the mill and not the flour spout or hopper. Reading the instructions that come with the mill is crucial to ensure proper use and maintenance of the product.

  • To start using the Mockmill 100, the first step is to loosen the adjustment lever that controls the coarseness of the flour and move it to the number 1 position. Then, tighten the lever again and move it to the number 10 position.
  • Next, clean the grain mill stones by running the mill at position 10 with 1/3 cup of white rice in the hopper. Mill the rice, then adjust the coarseness lever to number 7 and mill the rice twice more.
  • You’ll also need to calibrate the Mockmill 100 to achieve the desired flour consistency. We’ve provided a simple instructional video to assist you with this process.

Once the mill has been calibrated, it’s ready to use! Enjoy the convenience and quality of fresh flour made with your very own Mockmill 100 Grain Mill.

How do you clean the Mockmill 100?

Cleaning the Mockmill 100 Grain Mill is a breeze, provided that the millstones have not been glazed with oily seeds or other substances. Here are the simple steps to follow:

  • Take a handful of regular white rice (not parboiled) and mill it on the number 10 setting.
  • If the rice is not completely milled, tighten the adjustment lever a bit and mill the rice again.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your Mockmill 100 is clean and ready for its next use.

How do you open the Mockmill 100?

  1. To disassemble and reassemble the Mockmill 100, follow these steps:

    Disassembly:
    1. Disconnect the power and remove the hopper by turning the coarseness adjustment lever counterclockwise until it is fully removed.
    2. Press in the two tabs at the rear of the Mockmill 100 while lifting it up at the same time. Apply just enough pressure to release the lock on the hopper.
    3. Open the milling chamber by turning the large round cap counterclockwise to reveal the stator (top stone).
    4. Remove the stator to access the bottom stone (rotor), which is attached to the grain mill’s motor shaft.

    Reassembly:
    1. Place the stator (top stone) back in place and screw the large round cap back on. Turn it two to three times until you feel strong resistance and then turn the cap back a quarter turn.
    2. Turn the power to the Mockmill 100 back on and tighten the cap further until you hear a slight ticking noise.
    3. To reattach the hopper, switch off the power to the grain mill and disconnect it from the power source. Move the segment to which the lever was screwed back to the middle of the right-hand side of the mill.
    4. Recalibrate the mill as shown in the setup and calibration video.

By carefully following these steps, you can disassemble and reassemble your Mockmill 100 with ease, ensuring proper maintenance and function of the grain mill. Calibration is also recommended after disassembly to maintain the optimal performance of the mill.
